I have had the honour and privilege of reading “Reg Goes Swimming” to many, many children over the past 6 months since my book Reg Goes Swimming was published. This is the greatest joy of being a writer of children’s literature: the children, themselves. I just adore them. I am drawn to their wonder and engagement and enthusiasm for Reg, as a character. They make it all worthwhile. Reading to children is pure joy for me. Here are some of the questions children have asked me, over the course of the readings I have done in my school (Bloomfield Elementary School), in libraries, book launches, book readings and coffee shops:
“Does Reg have a girlfriend?”
“How old is Reg?”
“How old is Co-Co?”
“How old are you?”
“When did you start writing books?”
“What was the first book you ever wrote?”
“Why did you pick a bear to be the character in your book?”
“What sacrifices did you make to get this book?”
“How much does it cost to publish a book?”
“What was the reason you wrote this book?”
“What inspired you to write the book?”
“What do you need to do to publish a book?”
“How did you become a writer?”
“What is the message of the book?”
“Whose is your illustrator?”
“What did she do to learn how to be an illustrator?”
“Why are there different animals in the book?”
“What do illustrators use for tools when making their pictures?”
“Will you write another book?”
“Are you famous?” ![]()

Just so brilliant. Honestly, I am touched that kids even want to know…anything! So…my plan is to answer these questions on my social feed and blog for others who have enjoyed my Reg book. And I have now launched my first video in the series called “Ask Lori Anything” in an effort to help you folks get to know me better as a writer and author. Stay tuned for more! Hope you follow along.
